Where did Jackie Kennedy live after she moved out of the White House?

Mrs. Kennedy-Onassis lived for her last 20+ years in New York City at 1040 5th Avenue at 85th Street.

She moved to New York’s Upper East Side in an attempt to get some peace and privacy for her and her children.

A spacious apartment in a building designed by Rosario Candela: 17 stories high, only 27 apartments.

The building has a unique asymmetrical roof and step back design.

Her apartment has magnificent views of Central Park and the reservoir in the park.

Her dad, John Bouvier, after divorcing her mom, lived on 5th Avenue at 66th Street.

She worked for many years as an editor at Doubleday.

Many a day, Jackie walked to and from her job in midtown always sporting dark sunglasses and smoking a cigarette.

That was one classy lady. NYC misses her glamor and civic spirit. R.I.P.
