Following the crackdown on 25th March, 1971, there were severe carnage in the then East-Pakistan.
Hindus were particularly in danger. People were checked in the middle of the road to check they are circumcised or not. It is said that some Hindus memorized the holy words just to deceive the pakistani army. Being in the wrong religion meant instant death.
This photo is particularly horrifying. A women tied down and raped.
