David Cassidy, who died of organ failure in 2017 at age 67, purposely left his daughter Katie Cassidy out of his will, leaving his estate to his son.
David and Katie Cassidy (who plays Laurel Lance/Black Siren/Black Canary on the TV series "Arrow" & “The Flash”) had a complicated relationship — she was raised by her mother, former model Sherry Williams and her stepfather, Williams' husband, Dr. Richard Benedon — and David told People in 2009, "Because I didn't raise her, I didn't have to parent her."
The late pop singer told People Magazine in an interview some months before his death in 2017: "I never had a relationship with her. I wasn't her father, I was her biological father, but I didn't raise her. She has a completely different life."
Katie Cassidy’s response was: "This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute … thank you."
