Oh, that’s easy
After Vanilla Ice’s music career took a sustained downturn, about the only asset he had left was a very nice house. The problem was that it was in a horrible state of repair.
So, in order to unload it to raise cash, he decided to learn a little bit about contracting and organized the work himself. He did such a good job he made a pretty penny on the house and decided to turn to contracting full time. He soon had more business than he could handle and made more money from contracting than he had from music. Of course, that brought out reality show producers and he was once again a star, but this time hosting a show about his experiences as a contractor.
He’s engaging and funny. He was on the radio in my market talking about working with the Amish. Contrary to popular belief, the Amish will use power tools, just not on their own houses or barns. They commonly work as contractors as well to raise money for their families. He became friendly with many Amish and found they were pretty much like us. He once turned a corner and found an Amish elder with an iPhone.
